SeeYourHotel is a hotel-booking website that provides a map-based view of all the hotels in a specified area. It makes it easier for travelers to find a well-located hotel by presenting the same information from a new perspective. They serve business and leisure travelers who feel strongly that their travel experience hinges on getting the best-located hotel for their money. In other words, if I want to find a hotel near a park in which I can run, or a hotel
close to shopping, or near the freeway, or convention center, now I
can, visually! http://www.seeyourhotel.com

Evernote
October 7, 2009 by garyebels
A recent show topic was about a web application called Evernote. I personally have Evernote installed on all of my computers, my cell phone and my iTouch.
Just came across a article from the famous (former) Apple Person Guy Kawasaki.
Even if you use Evernote there are some good tips here. If you don't use Evernote give ti a try.
On-line Itinerary Tracking
August 23, 2009 by garyebels
Some of you may have become familiar with Tripit. A new competitor has now launched - it is still in Beta, but in a fairly mature form, and they are accepting new Beta members. The new service - Traxo - seems to have most of the same features when it comes to automatically combining travel bookings you might have made across a range of websites into an integrated single itinerary - and better social/networking/sharing controls.
One of the interesting features of Traxo is an ability to tell all or selected contents of your upcoming travels, with a view to possibly getting together during the journey. Worth a look.

Do You Have A Travel Blog?
August 21, 2008 by garyebels
Everybody can be a travel writer as long as they have a blog. So the question is: do you have yours? If you don't, you're missing out on a no cost and very effective opportunity to market your business, and yourself, to thousands of potential customers. (Written by Mark Murphy)

Disney Travel Agent ?
August 11, 2008 by garyebels
Hello all.
In the HBTA Show Number 168 I offered $25 Disney Dollars (given to one random forum member) for just posting to this Question/Topic.
So let me know - Are you a Disney Travel Agent? (i.e. do you have access to disneytravelagents.com and/or have graduated from the College of Disney Knowledge?)
Your answers will help me develop topics for upcoming Disney segments.
Thank you!

Re: difficulty with Disney

Sounds like you are using the right website. I have found that the Disney Travel Agent site does not work very well with Firefox (my preferred browser) and works great with MS Internet Explorer. I don't know how you would work around that on a Mac unless you load Windows and run it with Bootcamp.
I very seldom have to use a 'real' person. I know that with the sheer volume and the number of calls and issues there would be some inconsistency in service and responses (kind of like us on a given day :-) I read the best way to handle that is to hang up and call back and get another agent. Time of the day may also play a part. It is my belief that most experienced employees (in any profession) work weekday days. Calling in the evening or weekends may prove a bigger challenge. Most of the call centers are in Eastern Standard Time.
Just my thought - hope it helps - Gary

Hi Christine,
Are you going through the Disney Travel Agents site or just the Disney site?

Unusual Hotels of the World
June 10, 2008 by garyebels
Here is a site I just came across -
"Unusual Hotels of the World is the online guide for travelers interested in staying somewhere truly different. Starting out as a discussion between friends in a pub, featured hotels are underground, inside an igloo, up a tree or even underwater... and all unusual..."
