Anybody else have problems working with Disney? I get nothing but trouble whenever I have to book with them. Their website is difficult to navigate, communication is poor and it seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I recently tried to get around dealing with them and went through GOGO Worldwide Vacations. Yikes! This was an even bigger mess. What's the deal? Is it me or is it Disney?
Hi Christine,
Are you going through the Disney Travel Agents site or just the Disney site?
Gary
Hi Gary,
I'm using the Disney Travel Agent site (sort of) and also using the dedicated TA Disney phone line. Disney is a preferred vendor with my host agency and consortium and I am a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge. The travel agent website does not work well at all with Mac systems, so I have to rely mostly on phone res., which are inconsistent at best, or other vendors who have online booking systems that are in the 21st century <vbg>.
Sounds like you are using the right website. I have found that the Disney Travel Agent site does not work very well with Firefox (my preferred browser) and works great with MS Internet Explorer. I don't know how you would work around that on a Mac unless you load Windows and run it with Bootcamp.
I very seldom have to use a 'real' person. I know that with the sheer volume and the number of calls and issues there would be some inconsistency in service and responses (kind of like us on a given day :-) I read the best way to handle that is to hang up and call back and get another agent. Time of the day may also play a part. It is my belief that most experienced employees (in any profession) work weekday days. Calling in the evening or weekends may prove a bigger challenge. Most of the call centers are in Eastern Standard Time.
Just my thought - hope it helps - Gary
